Not so common today it seems, we met on the internet. How else do you think two people from opposites sides of the globe meet!? Separated by oceans and cultures, we were destined to meet. Although My Latin Wonder Sonia is from Ecuador, she lived in Burbank when we met and and I also lived in "The Valley". Like me, we were both searching for Mr. & Mrs. Right. Or I think Mr & Mrs Right Now to be exact. I don't either of us expected to find eachother. Dating, meeting people and making friends were our goals. Both married before and either of us had plans on stepping down that road again. Both having our own reason why not, pain and dissatisfaction being at the top of our lists among many many others. That's a blog for another day, easy to stray off on to a rant about that! So back to us : ) I at the time was working nights for the first time in my life at Universal Studios, She was working at a Dental office in Glendale. Both of us while on the job would tend to our "Yahoo" Dating site. So one night while "surfing" I came across "Sonia's Profile" On 06/01/2005 at 06:46 pm. Her profile caught my eye as it was labled "Born to Salsa" and I was currently taking salsa lessons and also one of her pictures I knew had to have been taken in Panama as I had just been in April 2005 with my father. So I wrote her a brief note telling her a little bout my self and asking her about the Panama picture. Well she wrote right back On 06/02/2005 at 09:02 am. She liked my profile, told me "I was the kind of friend everyone should have", HEY! At Least She Wrote Back!! she told me about her life and gave me her personal email. She we Graduated to email, big step!! Emailed back and forth and then we eventually talked on the phone. I called her and we had a great talk and made a date for Wednesday June 8th, to meet on my dinner break at work we went to Karl Strauss Brewing Company at Universal CityWalk. We had a Great time. We talked, shared to eachother about our lives, we even shared some of eachothers meal, that should of been a sign cause we continue to do that today. After dinner I gave her the Grand Tour. I took around and introduced Sonia to all my friends and showed her around. Finally walking her to her car, giving her a hug and watcher her drive away. I had a great time! To find out so did she and she emailed me telling me "it was the most fun, nice and unique date I ever had". I guess she meant it as I got a 2nd date the following Wednesday night June 15th. We went to Don Cocos and well lets say that make Great Margerita's, we talked and laughed and gave her more of a tour of the studio. I think I scared her when I took her to the roof top of the tallest Sound Stage in Hollywood. Again a Great Date. Even though I was working, it was still a date, I took a looong dinner break, Hey! I clocked out ; ) . We finally went on our first real date on June 25th. I picked her up at her home which she was nervous about having me meet her there as she didn't like giving out her home address, an hour later, I arrived with flowers and after getting the tour of her cute little one bedroom apt and she changed her clothes. We drove out to Venus Beach, Where we walked, bought sunglass, lots of incenses and almost got her belly button pierced, we watched and heckled this girl getting hers done and decided another time, we went on to have lunch and the best teramiso we had ever had. We had the best time talking and getting to know eachother more, but it felt like we'd been friends forever, it was a great day, but as it got late we went back to my SUV and I took her to Santa Monica's 3rd street prominade, where we shared our first Martini's together, Hers Apple and mine Dirty. We then walked around the prominade Holding hands, shopping and watching the street entertainers, we ended up at the Monsoon cafe, where they had an incredible band with a latin flare, we ate, danced and had a great night and we closed the place with the last dance of the night, where we had our fist kiss, the music stopped and we didn't even realize it, as far as we're concern the music is still playing and it'll never stop. A great first date that was followed by many more : )
